Environmental Policy
It is the policy of C&G Building Contractors (UK) Ltd to ensure that throughout its activities and undertaking, account is taken of the need to protect and where appropriate enhance the natural and man-made environment.
In pursuance of the latter the Directors, the site foreman, contractors and self-employed will endeavour to ensure that relevant legislation for environmental protection is implemented at all times. Where other legislation is relevant to the activity being undertaken, C&G Building Contractors will apply the highest standards to protect and enhance both property and the environment.
C&G Building Contractors will aim to minimise the impact on the environment by reducing waste, by the efficient use of energy and the implementation of an appropriate policy for the purchasing of products and materials. It will always take the necessary steps to fulfil legal obligations covering environmental management, including the relevant duties of care.
Although overall responsibility for environmental management remains with the Managing Director, to ensure these objectives are met all persons involved with C&G Building Contractors are responsible for environmental practices and matters associated with their activities.
The Managing Director will where appropriate, set targets for improving environmental performance, implement suitable systems to monitor and review the effectiveness of this policy and seek the involvement of the site foreman, contractors and the self-employed in achieving its aims and objectives.
The Managing Director will organise and manage activities so that they eliminate or reduce, so far as is reasonable practical, the impact on the environment caused by:
- Substances or materials used by or generated by the company and sub-contractors that are considered to be hazardous to health.
- Waste or materials generated by the company entering, natural water courses, the atmosphere, or the surrounding strata.
