Project Scope
C&G Building Contractors were delighted to undertake this renovation project in Denmead, Hampshire. The project required our expert attention in order to bring this 300 year old thatched cottage up to date.
The project was completed to the highest quality both internally and externally whilst keeping all the character and charm of this period property.
All wood used on the project was sourced from a local sustainable timber merchant and a local reclamation company. The roof was re-thatched by a traditional local thatcher with many years’ experience in the art.
The project was successfully completed on time and budget in the spring of 2010.
This project involved the full renovation of a dilapidated 300 year old cottage. Works carried out within this project included:
- Removal of all internal floor and walls to leave shell
- Re-thatch existing roof
- New floors to ground and first floor (solid and timber respectively)
- Installation of log burner and under floor heating
- Installation of wet room, cloakroom and kitchen
- Soft and hard Landscaping including French drainage system incorporating Aco drainage gullies
- Natural stone patio to perimeter of building
